Why Elevate

Tier 3 Data

Elevated Computing operates in Tier 3 & 4 Data Centers, which are among the most reliable available. Based on a proprietary benchmark rating of a server’s hosting ability, this level is recommended for large businesses, which means Elevated’s clients of all sizes benefit from the efficiency and security of these data centers.

Tier 3 Centers provide:
  • 99.982 percent uptime a year
  • Less than 2 hours of downtime and
  • 72-hour power outage protection.
Tier 4 Centers provide:
  • 99.995 percent uptime a year
  • Less than 30 minutes downtime and
  • 96-hour power outage protection

These reassuring statistics compare to 22 hours downtime with a Tier 2 Data Center and almost 29 hours with a Tier 1; neither of these lower levels provides full power outage protection.

Dual Power and Other Benefits

Tier 3 and Tier 4 center specifications require IT equipment to have dual power inputs to permit maintenance of power distribution components between the UPS and IT equipment.

In addition, they allow for any planned maintenance activity of power and cooling systems to take place without interrupting operations of hardware running in the data center.
